The
Confederate States postal rate for single letters to any distance became
ten cents effective on July 1, 1862 and continued until the end of the
war. The stamp portrays President Jefferson Davis.

This uniface note,
dated in type at Tallahassee, Florida on February 2, 1863 is signed by
secretaries for Governor John Milton and Treasurer C.H. Austin. The
public lands of the state are pledged to secure it.
