Usage To Switzerland, 1865 cover to Basel, Prussian Closed Mail rate of 33c prepaid with 30c orange (#71) and 3c rose (#65) tied by "St Louis Jul 8" duplex postmark, all over reverse, lithographed, building illustrated advertisement for "Chas. Leinberger's Rheinische Wein Hall & Hotel Garni" (see here), red New York "Jul 12" exchange datestamp and "12" credit handstamp, blue "Aachen Franco" boxed handstamp, arrival backstamp, extremely fine and attractive $1,500

Usage To Sweden, 1865 cover from Alabama to Jonkoping with 10c green (#68) tied together with 30c orange (#71) by "Mobile Ala Oct 1" duplex postmark, the October, 1865 Post Office Assistant lists the rate to Sweden by Prussian Closed Mail at 40c and the "if prepaid 34c" note of the correct rate is omitted, red "N. York Am. Pkt Paid Oct 14" exchange datestamp and "15" credit handstamp, blue "Aachen Franco" boxed handstamp, blue crayon "f 2½" (sg) on verso and Swedish "Sodrr St Banan 29/10/ 1865" transit backstamp, extremely fine $2,500

Usage To China, 1868 cover to Amoy with 30c orange and pair 2c black "F" grills (#93) tied  by New York Foreign Mails geometric cancels, red New York "Jul 18" exchange office backstamp, red "24" credit handstamp, rare usage of 34c rate, via Southampton, that replaced the 45c rate on January 1, 1868 and was in effect for only two years, red "London paid 30 JY 68" transit, "Hong Kong SP 21 65" transit backstamp and "Hong Kong & Singapore Line Marine Sorter A" double circle backstamp, extremely fine $12,500
