overpaying rate to a famous collector
The
first commemorative stamps of the United States was the set of 16 values
issued in conjunction with the World's Columbian Exposition held in
Chicago. Above is a colorful "philatelic" cover prepared to be
saved .

World's Columbian Exposition Quarter Dollar
The
commemorative silver Columbian quarter dollar released on June 13, 1893
as a companion coin to the previously released half dollar. They were
sold as a souvenirs for $1.00 each at the fair.
