Florida Express
(A Bogus Issue)

These stamps have been classified as either local posts or a Confederate period private issue. They were first reported in the Moens catalog of 1864. Some authors have claimed an authentic issue based primarily on the finely executed design and printing of one of the early types (type 4.). I believe it to be a bogus issue.

The catalog numbering system uses the letter "B" for "Bogus" on these.
